If you do include the weapon for cowards known as the sniper rifle, make the bullet trail based off the suits scan profile. Stealthy scout suits have the lowest bullet trail, heavy suits have the biggest bullet trail. Sure you could have the 'commando' doing big damage with a sniper but people are gonna see where you are with your highly visible bullet trail.
Your suggestion literally doesn't even make sense.
Moreover the gaming developers of the world as well as the gaming community at large would dispute your assertion that sniper rifles has no place in an FPS.
just because something is popular doesnt mean its right.
Well firstly I'd like you to explain how wearing a different type of suit suddenly affects your weapons tracer.... secondly how do you even justify removing one specific kind of rifle from a game about guns and militaries?
Is there some kind of stipulation that demand we all stand within 30ft of one another or have we just started using plasma muskets or something? If so I support EVE: Return of the Musket Wars a full 200%.
if a module equipped to the dropsuit can increase the damage a weapon does(which i think doesnt make sense but we have it as a datum of how stupid things can be i suppose) , then the systems responcible for the em dampening of the suit, ie scan profile, can also effect the detection profile of a weapon. It also acts as a balancer. high hp and defensive suits have high profiles for easy visibility, the weapons they use should also be more visible giving away their position.
As to the subject of sniper rifles actually being in the game, they are a tactical asset that should be limited, but as implimented they are unlimited. Would you ever win a match where you need to secure objectives if you had 16 snipers on your team? probably not, which is the same reason why you cant have 16 HAVs deployed, sure you might get a lot of kills but you would probably also lose the battle through failed strategy and thus lose greater conflicts through resource mismanagement. As dust has been implimented, and many other shooters have been implimented, maps are generally too small to even warrent the use of sniper rifles. Snipers as used in these games are better represented by tactical rifles rather than full blown sniper rifles. And yeah, people can have fun playing with snipers, i'm not saying its not fun, i'm saying it doesnt belong in this type of game as implimented.
but who knows, there hasn't been any real variety in fps games in 20 years, its all just the same rehashed weapon roles. fps in general have been stagnant for so long, relying more on graphics and changes in movement than anything revolutionary in actual gameplay.
